It's a Small World

It may be a small world, but that Disney song has been going around my brain.  So, I started whistling it a few days back.  Well, yesterday Ricky started whistling it too.  And it wasn't too cryptic.  He whistled the first verse 3 times yesterday.   I am quite surprised he has picked it up so quickly!

Popcorn!

The cockatiels have a new treat - popcorn!  They love it!  Ricky and Sammy will eat it from my fingers, and, all of them will fly across the room to get it!

This morning, after Sammy had stepped up to the perch and had flied across the room to sit on top of the cages, I wax trying to coax her onto my finger.  She flew off and landed on the floor.  Still not wanting to get on my finger I offered her the hand-held perch.  She stepped up onto it and I put the perch just below  my shoulder, and she stepped up onto my shoulder.  She stood there, with her wings half-way open for approximately 15 seconds, before flying off to the top of the cages across the room.

Today the cockatiels are also getting the Kaytee Munchables Shred-a-Box.  I've put one in each of the floor of each of the bird's cages.  They are small cardboard boxes with honey seed treats inside.
